Hansen Weekly Update

September 9, 2022

Big picture

Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!

I hope that everyone has had a great week! It's been awesome to finally have a full building, as we were joined by our Kindergarten friends on Tuesday. Students have done well in learning new routines, meeting new teachers and classmates, and getting acclimated to the Hansen!

Also, thank you again to all families for the patience and support that you have shown as the bus transportation pieces are being worked out. I appreciate the frustrations that have been felt, and am pleased that we are working closely with the transportation company and showing improvements each day. Please continue to reach out with questions, and thank you for your continued support and collaboration.

Please enjoy some of this week's highlights below...

Creating a Culture of Equity, Achievement, Inspiration, and Joy!

Scheduled Fire Drill This Morning

This morning, the Hansen practiced a scheduled fire drill. The students and staff did a fantastic job, and the drill lasted for about five minutes before we were able to return to the regular routines of the day.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or if your child needs any support processing today's drill.

Elementary Curriculum Overviews

Elementary Curriculum Overviews

Information about the curriculum taught at each grade level in core subjects; English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, can be found in the new Curriculum Overviews that are available on the District website. They have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

If you need a different language, please contact Deborah Rooney at rooneyd@cantonma.org or your child's teacher.
