Note from Mrs. Campbell
We have had a wonderful start to the school year! Routines are in place and the comfort level is slowly starting to emerge. As I had mentioned earlier in the year, it was that comfort level we were looking for prior to guests coming in for lunch with their children. If you do visit your child for lunch please remember the following:
- Children are enjoying a lunch with his/her guest; therefore, friends will not be asked to join the guest table with you.
- No outside fast food is permitted.
- Cells phones are not to be used.
Remember we eat lunch first and then head outside to recess. Our lunch times are the following: K/1 11:00 - 11:30, 2/3 11:40 - 12:05 and 4/5 12:15 - 12:40.
Parent teacher conferences are just around the corner (see below). I encourage you to carve out time for you and your child to meet with his/her classroom teacher. This is a time for celebration as well as notification as to how your child is doing academically. The question I like to pose to my own children's teachers is, "How can I as a parent support you as the teacher at home?" I know if you ask, our staff will have suggestions. We are a team (parent, teacher and student) working together to ensure your child has a successful school year academically, socially and emotionally. Please be part of this triangle of success. Mrs. Fairbotham will also have the Scholastic book fair going on. A perfect chance to stop and pick up a book or two - think reading goals!
Finally, we have several FUN things going on this month. Our fall fundraiser begins, family pumpkin decorating is just around the corner as is the Monster Mash family dance. I encourage you to participate!
As always, if you have questions or concerns please reach out.

Designated Life Skill of the Month
Fall Fundraiser to Begin
Dear Elsie Rogers Families,
Fundraising is an important part of being able to offer programming and opportunities for our Elsie Rogers students. In the past, PTO has helped fund the building of a new playground, 5th grade camp experience, reading reward trips, field trips, teacher compensation for classroom materials and much more. This year the PTO will be sponsoring a fall fundraising opportunity through Krispy Kreme.
Three products will be offered for purchase:
Krispy Kreme Signature Coffee - $10.00 for a 12 oz bag
One Dozen Original Glazed Doughnut Gift Certificates - $8.00 per certificate
BOGO Doughnut Cards - $20.00 per card
Each product has it’s own ordering sheet and money must be collected at the time of ordering. We will accept two payment forms, cash and checks. Checks can be made payable to ELSIE ROGERS PTO. Students will begin selling on October 10 and order forms/money will be due on October 31.
Products are scheduled to be delivered by the week of November 11 or earlier.
IF you would like to opt out of the selling piece of the fundraiser, family donations of $20.00 can be made as well.
Thank you for supporting Elsie Rogers!

Reminders at Dismissal
- Please do not exit your vehicle in the pick up line. If your child needs assistance, we will help your child get in, but then ask that you pull into the lot to assist with seat belts if needed.
- Please do not have your child enter the car on the driver's side. Please use curb side entrance to the vehicle.
- We also ask that you DO NOT pass the car in front of you unless a staff member signals you to do so.
- Finally, please do not talk on your cell phone during this time.
All of these requests will expedite the car rider dismissal process and provide safety to your child. Thank you!

Pumpkin Craze!
We’d like to invite you to participate in a NEW Elsie Rogers family activity! This fall season, with pumpkins being as abundant as they are, we’d love for families to work together and decorate a pumpkin into something creative! Below are a few ideas to get the juices flowing!
When pumpkins are completed, a parent can bring it to school to be displayed for all to enjoy! Pumpkins can be brought into school beginning Monday, October 16. The last day to bring in pumpkins will be October 19. All pumpkins will be displayed during the up and coming Monster Mash Family Dance on October 20 and Parent Teacher Conferences on October 24-25. We are so excited to see what innovative ideas you all come up with!!
*Please note that costumes should refrain from any weapons and/or toy guns. Also, no student drop off without adult supervision.
