Learn about the parts of a computer
Hard Drive (HDD/SSD)
The hard drive is the part that stores all of your data. Inside it is the hard disk, where all of your files and folders are located. It can hold over 100GB of data.
A touchscreen is a display and is also an input device. Some touchscreens need a pen/stylus but most modern touchscreens react to human touch.
The monitor is the computer screen. It allows you to interact with the computer , typically using a mouse and keyboard.
Optical drives have lasers that can read data on optical discs. Some common types of optical drives include CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and Blue-ray drives.
CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. It is the brain of your computer . It processes everything.
RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It is made up of small memory chips. Everytime you open a program , it gets loaded from the hard drive into the RAM. Reading data from the RAM is quicker than reading data from the hard drive.
The motherboard is the main circuit board of the computer and is also known as the mainboard or logic board.
Input and Output devices
