Rosa Parks Didn't know what was coming
“The only tired I was, was tired of giving in,” Said Rosa Parks. Some people don’t know why she did but she did, but she did. Her living was an event she didn’t know until she was forty two years old. Multiple other African Americans had refused to leave their seat on the bus but they only got arrested, but it all came down to Rosa’s personal records. In this editorial you will learn about Rosa’s crazy childhood, Rosa’s amazing act of honor, and, sadly, her life had to end.
Rosa's Childhood
Rosa Louise Mccauley was born on February 4th, 1913. Rosa had one sibling; Sylvester Mccauley. Rosa’s parents were, sadly, separated (divorced). her mother moved to Pine Level, Rosa come along with her. She remembers, one particular time when her grandfather was outside of the house with an armed shotgun while the Ku Klux Klan members marched right down their street. Rosa went to a school named Industrial for Girls, Alabama. Rosa still had good education though, her mother taught her to read at a young age.Her school had a lack of supplies and transportation because it was for “blacks only”, the “whites only” school had up to date supplies and transportation. She eventually married Raymond Parks.
Rosa's Act of Honor
Many people have an idea of what Rosa Parks accomplished that changed everything. It happened on December 1st, 1955, after a long day of work she boarded bus number 2857. She paid her fee to the bus driver, James F. Blake, and now it was time to re-enter on the back of the bus but she refused. She finally got on from the back of the bus. The bus driver soon noticed that the “whites only” section of the bus was getting full, so he made the “white’s only” section bigger. It was time for Rosa to get up a move further back but she refused once again. She got arrested and put in jail. Many organizations formed at the act, including the Montgomery Boycott.
