CHARACTER STRONG
This week, when ANYTHING makes you feel frustrated or angry, just take 3 deep breaths and move on.
Simply put your hands over your stomach, and think about blowing up a balloon with your belly as you breathe in for four seconds and then exhale. Intentional breathing can be a great way to practice patience by getting emotions under control.
All 8th Grade Students
Are you interested in playing sports next year in high school?
Just a reminder, your grades this semester affect your athletic eligibility for both fall and winter sports next year in high school. You must pass 4 classes this semester AND have a 2.00 grade point average (C average) by June to be cleared to participate in sports at whatever high school you plan on attending (some schools allow a onetime waiver if you have at least a 1.50 GPA).
Work on your grades now!
If you have questions you can call Randy Gilzean at (530)891-3050 ext. 227 after 1:00pm. Please leave a message if there is no answer.
20 in 2020 Reading Challenge
Bidwell students are participating in the 20 in 2020 Reading Challenge. Students are being challenged to read up to 20 books in the year 2020. You can find the details on Bidwell's website on the Library page.
This is a fun way to expand students' reading that will be attainable for all readers regardless of their reading level or reading reluctance. Encourage your student to come into the Library to find out all the details regarding this challenge.

Amazon Smile
You shop. Amazon gives.
If you shop on Amazon, please consider using Amazon Smile to choose Bidwell Jr. High PTA as a charitable donation. Each time you shop they donate money to BJHS PTA.
Our PTA is working to raise funds to put in bleacher seating under the solar panels which we are greatly in need of. You will need to choose your charitable donation as Bidwell Jr. High PTA. You would then go through the new Amazon Smile widget on your phone when you shop which automatically links to your Amazon account.
Amazon Widget Instructions:
1. If you have the Amazon App installed you should remove it. To do this, tap and hold the app icon until it starts to jiggle. Tap the cross at the top left of the icon and confirm that you want to delete it. Don't worry, this will not delete your Amazon account or any of your settings.
2. Now load Safari (the iPhone internet browser) and go to smile.amazon.com.
3. Tap the Share button on the bottom of the screen
4. Tap the Add to Home Screen icon. You may need to swipe left to see this.
5. You will now have Amazon Smile on your home screen which you can use exactly the same way you used Amazon App.
