Principal's Note...
Our third grade students enjoyed a presentation from on our our Alumni as part of our "Understanding Our Differences" series today. Students learned about physical disabilities and then met Mr. Tim Brown who is a former MMES student who was paralyzed in a skiing accident a number of years ago. Tim's message is one of making the best of whatever life throws your way. He tells the students the story of his injury and how he has had to learn to adapt to the new life that has, including still surfing!
Anyone who has met Tim will tell you that he is an incredibly inspiring man, and it was great for our students to meet him today. It really makes you count your blessings to hear how he approaches life and overcomes obstacles everyday.
As a reminder, next week is Parent-Teacher Conference week. If you have not had a chance to make an appointment with your child's teacher, please reach out to him/her via email. These face-to-face meetings are an important part of forming a strong school to home connection!
Have a great weekend!
Best,
John
