Today,the Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world. It was built as a tomb for the emperor's wife. The workers used 1,000 elephants to carry white marble to the Taj Mahal. Today,the Taj Mahal brings many tourist from all over the world.
The Reasons Why!
The Taj Mahal was built because the emperor's wife,Mumtaz Mahal, died and the emperor's name was Shah Jahan. His wife died giving birth to their 14th son. The emperor loved Mumtaz a lot and they had a happy life.
The design of the main red stone gate is 30 feet high and has verses from the Koran that decorate it. The emperor got red sand stone from a place called Fatehpur Sikiri [means the city of victory], that was run by emperor Akbar. The cost of the build for the Taj Mahal was 32 crore rupees [type of money].

Today the Taj Mahal is a great tourist attraction. The Taj Mahal is visited by many people it is a great place to visit and a great place to relax. Today the Taj Mahal is a crypt and will be a crypt for all the world to see.
