PLANNING AND DATA: A LONG LASTING FRIENDSHIP
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! it’s the COWART super heroes!!!
Thank you for saving the day by being super prepared for our beginning of year goal setting conferences…thanks to your hard work, the meetings went extraordinarily well!
It is official, the last week of the six weeks is here! Because planning and preparation are leverage points in developing purposeful and intentional lessons, we have allotted 3 days this week to instructional planning. Teachers will be meeting in the Coaches’ Room to develop instructional calendars, common assessments, and begin lesson design.
Common assessments will be also be taking place this week, so at the end of this week, you will have more student data to guide your teaching.
With data, come data meetings! This year, RtI meetings will be taking the place of last year’s data meetings. This means that we will continue to desegregate data, but our lens will focus on students in need of intervention. Instead of individual data presentations, we will meet as an RtI grade level team/committee to make sure that we are collaborating to help our students who need it most. We will continue to use color-coded data spreadsheets to monitor class progress towards achieving campus goals. We must continue to be purposeful when analyzing the data so that we can have intentional plans of action to address the areas of opportunities while continuing to reinforce the areas of strength.
