Attend 5th Grade Student Step-Up; Parent/Guardian night; PACE meeting

5th graders will be visiting Edison on Monday, April 30 to learn more about their transition to Edison Middle School. Students will have an opportunity to meet Principal Rachel Bednar and Assistant Principal Lauryn Humphris. Counselor Ms. Cyndi Menza will also share a slideshow about life as an Edison Panther. Current Panther students will lead small group tours and answer any questions the 5th graders may have. Each 5th grader will receive a folder with information and tips for a successful transition to middle school. Students will arrive at Edison around 9:30 a.m. and head back to Madison at 11 a.m.

Parents and guardians of current 5th graders are then invited to join Principal Rachel Bednar, Assistant Principal Lauryn Humphris and Counselor Cyndi Menza on Tues., May 8 at 7 p.m. to hear some important information about your child’s transition to middle school. After the presentation, 6th grade teachers will be available to give parents tours of the building and answer questions about 6th grade. If you are unable to be there, presentation and handouts will be available following the presentation on Edison’s website at http://www.cusd200.org/edison under Parents and Students > New Student Info.

If your child is in either PACE reading, PACE math, or both, please join us for a meeting at 6:00 pm, prior to the general meeting, on May 8 to learn about how the Fast Paced program at the middle school level differs from the elementary PACE program.

Get orthodontic services, support the Madison playground fund

Bauer Dentistry and Orthodontics, owned by our own Bauer Madison family, have generously offered to donate $250 to our new playground fund for every single new patient that starts braces or Invisalign at their office between January 1 and May 31! Eighty new patients could bring Madison $20,000 toward building a new, accessible playground in the back of school. Their office is located on Roosevelt road in Wheaton. If you or someone you know is looking for these services, check them out and support the Madison playground fund!
