Principal Update
Friday 8/25/21
Community Care Day is this Saturday from 9am to 11 am
Greetings
Administrators and staff members are currently completing various training to prepare for students to return on September 1st. If you have not had the opportunity to read the PPS Back to School information, you can find it by following this link. Note that students are required to wear masks at all times except for when eating and playing an instrument that is played using their mouth.
We are also prioritizing student lunch services outside. If students are collecting a school lunch, they will go through the line in the cafeteria and then immediately outside. Students will be required to keep a distance of three feet between themselves and their peers while eating. After eating they will continue recess activities while wearing a mask. In the case of poor weather or rain, we are developing a backup plan that allows us the spread students out in more than one space. Fortunately, we have three lunch services this year to decrease the number of students at any given service time. Students will eat lunch by grade level.
The student schedule will be available on Monday. The expectation is that parents complete a daily illness screening with their students, prior to the student leaving home. The Daily Self Screening Document is below. Children who are exhibiting COVID-19 primary symptoms must stay home(families should consult with their primary care provider). More information can be found here at the PPS Back To School website. Click on this link.
We will also have schedules available on the first day of school for students. Please note that we have 3 entrances for students.
- 6th Grade will enter the on 41st and Fremont
- 7th Grade will enter the building at the Bryce entrance
- 8th Grade will enter the building at the science wing
We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Best Regards,
Dr. VImegnon

ALL PPS STUDENTS EAT FOR FREE IN 2021-22
All PPS students eat FREE. This school year, all students in all schools have access to free breakfast and free lunch each school day. This was made possible by a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Program waiver for the 2021-22 school year.
Families in non-CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) schools may still complete meal applications for free/reduced price meals in order to be eligible for other benefits such as fee waivers/reductions in other programs. Click here for a current list of CEP schools.
Safe Oregon Tip Line
The SafeOregon Tip Line provides a secure, confidential means of alerting school administrators and law enforcement of explicit or potential threats to student safety. As we begin the 2021-22 school year, here are some important reminders about the SafeOregon Tip Line.
Anyone can access the SafeOregon system through a link on their school’s website, or by going directly to www.safeoregon.com. Trained staff are available 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. Information can be submitted through the website, or by live call/text (844-472-3367), email (tip@safeoregon.com), or mobile app.

Beaumont Foundation
Welcome back Beaumont families!
With the new year comes new opportunities to support your kids, the school, and all the wonderful teachers at Beaumont. The Beaumont Foundation desperately needs new members so it can continue. Most of the volunteers have eighth-graders and want to pass the torch this year for a smooth transition. The Foundation raises money for Beaumont staffing which means the more money we raise, the more elective classes and support staff like specialists are funded. Beaumont is lucky to have a wide array of quality electives like Spanish, Choir, Art, Logic, etc. and we want to keep them. Your support does make a difference. You can donate here: https://www.aplos.com/aws/give/TheFundforPortlandPublicSchools/beaumontfoundation
To volunteer please contact Beaumontfoundation@gmail.com
