Halcyon’s MUN 2016 Conference
Date: 09 and 10 June 2016
Location: Halcyon
Dear Students,
Halcyon’s third annual Model United Nations (MUN) Conference is quickly approaching!
For those of you unfamiliar with MUN, students represent the different member states of the United Nations. The delegations then debate and work as a team in their committees towards the development of resolutions based on global issues similar to those debated in the actual United Nations. MUN allows its participants to build impressive resumes, explore interests in real-life international affairs and security, and improve their public speaking skills.
Our conference is aimed at providing an opportunity for students to gain experience of MUN before attending larger international conferences such as MUNISH in The Hague, where Halcyon has a history of attending every October. More information about Halcyon MUN can be found on our website, here.
We would be delighted to welcome students who would be having their first MUN conference experience as well as those who already have experience.
At this time, the Halcyon MUN Board of Directors wish to once again warmly invite any and all students who are interested in participating in this exciting and empowering experience. If you would like to participate please sign-up here.
Time is tight, so we will unfortunately only be able to take final applications up until Thursday 19 May 2016.
We look forward to welcoming you to our conference!
Best Wishes,
Halcyon MUN Board of Directors,
Alexi, Ellie, Eric, Eveline, Evy, Kieran, Nate, Rachel, and Scott
World Orienteering Day Results
On 11 May Grade 10 took part in the World Orienteering Day, joining thousands of other orienteers around the world. The race was organised by the students of PHE: Ethan, Mike and Thomas.
The results are below. Congratulations to all of Grade 10, especially to the organisers and the winning pair.
The sun is coming back at the end of the week ... so the time will be right for ICE CREAM!
