Pirate Log
March 30-April 3
Our Mission
Our Beliefs
We believe students excel when...
- Curriculum is challenging and progressive;
- Actively engaged in the learning process;
- All have an equal opportunity to learn;
- Learning is a shared responsibility;
- Held to clearly defined, high expectations; and
- All are accepted, valued, and safe.
Pirate e-Learning Academy ~ Week 2
If you are having a difficult time reaching any of your students, please let us know. We will continue to try and reach out to ensure all of our pirate learners have what they need. Please also keep the "Students Without Access" document updated as you find out the needs of our students. The district is ordering additional MiFi devices for parents to check out. Several of our students have received one, but many are still waiting.
We will honor spring break next week (April 6-10). Be sure to take this time to truly disconnect and enjoy your families.
Please know that we appreciate all that you are doing in an effort to continue to teach our children. If there is anything you need or anything we can do in order to better support you, please let us know.
Make it a great week! The choice is yours. :)

- Be available by phone and email during regular work hours
- Be sure to add your admin as Google Classroom co-teachers and invite admin to any video conferencing

- Continue to stay in close contact with all parents - SchoolStatus will be the communication platform (use the Broadcast feature to send out a mass-text message to parents)
- Interventionist, inclusion teachers and counselors should be involved in making connections with tier and special education students

- Participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Log time worked for federal reporting and possible reimbursements to the district.
A Trauma-Informed Approach to Teaching Through Coronavirus
"We know that in some districts, schools have just closed, while in others, there’s an expectation that classes will shift to distance learning. This change can be a challenge for educators as well as students. From a trauma-informed standpoint, what do educators need to be conscious of as they navigate this transition?" - Teaching Tolerance
