Union Family Update
March 25, 2023
Dear Union Families,
Kindy Round-Up was a tremendous success! We had rising kindergarteners, and their families, visit the building and learn more about life at Union Elementary. We were absolutely thrilled to welcome our incoming class of 2036! Registration remains open for those that have not yet signed up for next August. If you know of a neighbor, friend, or family of an age-eligible student in ZCS boundaries, please continue to spread the word to get their child registered early!
Student Progress Report Cards - Quarter 3 report cards are now available in PowerSchool. To access your child’s report card, simply log in to PowerSchool (using your parent login or your child’s login) and click on the Student Reports link on the left. If you have forgotten how to log in to PowerSchool, your child or building administrative assistant can assist with this.
Kokomo Beach Day and Cafe Menu Changes - March 30th is Kokomo Beach Day! Students may wear fun beach attire (no swim suits), bring a towel to sit on at lunch and in class, and prepare to have some fun! Menu changes were made to accommodate this day. March 22 we will have Ravioli and then on March 30 we will have Cheeseburgers, Sun Set Sip, carrots and a slushy in a sack lunch. Perfect for a lunch at the beach!
Buddy Up Fun Night is tonight, March 25 at ZCHS. See the flyer located below
Spring Break - School will be closed beginning Friday, March 31st and will reopen on Monday, April 10th. We hope you have a wonderful and fun spring break!

Elementary Science Materials Adoption
All elementary schools are in their last year of our science materials from Purdue University (PU will not be supporting these in future years) and are reviewing new materials. At the same time, the Indiana Department of Education is revising standards over the coming months. During the month of March, we will have materials for parents to review at the Educational Services Center located at 900 Mulberry Street from 8:00 am-3:30 pm each day by appointment or online using the links below. We ask that parents provide us with feedback by the end of March so that when the standards are finalized, we can decide about materials and order in time for the start of school.
To set up a time to review materials, please contact Kelsey Thompson, Administrative Assistant, at kthompson@zcs.k12.in.us. For any questions about elementary science or the standards, please contact Christine Squier, Director of Academic Services, at csquier@zcs.k12.in.us. . Click here for digital access to resources.
