First Nine Weeks - Done!

The first Nine Weeks is over! Remind, it's a student holiday Monday and Tuesday, October 11 and 12.

Teachers will finalize their grades on Tuesday and report cards will go out later this week.

It's hard to believe that we are 1/4 of the way done already...thank you for your continued support.

Also - we are having our first Student Support Night on Tuesday, October 12, 6:00 PM at the Elementary School. The flyer is below for more details.

Transportation News and Notes

The district is no longer allowing students to ride to and from school with other students if they are not registered riders on the same bus route. If assigned to the same route they still need a signed note from the parent/guardian or a pass from the campus office for the driver to release them at an unauthorized stop.

The district is experiencing a record number in ridership this year and extra students not assigned to that specific route may displace a student who has already registered for transportation in Ascender Parent Portal and been approved to ride.

Also, Due to an increase in Stop Arm Violations(cars going around buses when the yellow Stop Arm is out), Lago Vista Police Department has assigned officers to follow the buses on their routes.

This was implemented yesterday, will continue through next week and will occur periodically throughout the school year.

Our thanks to Lago Vista Police Department for supporting our bus drivers and for helping ensure the safety of all Lago Vista ISD students.

Picture Day - You Can Still Order!

Boys Athletics - If your son is in last period athletics and you need to pick them up, we ask that you pick them up BEFORE 3PM.

School Time - Please remember that we teach from "bell to bell" each day and when you pull your student(s) out early or they arrive late to school, they miss valuable class time. Thank you for understanding!

Covid Questions...

Q: How will I know if my student has been exposed?

A: If your student is determined to be a close contact of a student who has tested positive for COVID, you will be personally notified. If your child is in the same grade level as a student who has tested positive, you will receive an email.

Q: Are masks required?

A: LVISD does not require students, parents, teachers, staff members or visitors to wear masks or face coverings while on district premises. However, the wearing of face masks is allowed and is highly encouraged.

Q: Can I choose for my child to do at-home/remote learning this year?

A: The state has not provided for a funded remote instruction option this school year. Students not at school will be under normal attendance requirements. Exceptions to this are students who are isolated because of a positive COVID result or who are quarantined due to being a COVID close contact.
