It's Spring!

April 2021

Spartan Nation

April is HERE!!! We've returned to "In- Person Instruction" and Opened our NEW 21st Century Community Learning Facility. We are so glad to have our students with us and look forward to finishing the school year strong with them. Our teachers and staff have been phenomenal with teaching our students on-line and those students who have decided to return in person. With their cameras and technology, it has been no easy feat but they have risen to the challenge.

Now that spring has come full bloom, we here at the Richmond Heights Upper School will continue working hard to meet the individual needs of our students and families. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

State Testing

The Ohio Department of Education has decided to move forward with state testing for this academic year. All students enrolled in specific courses outlined below MUST test per the state order. We will provide transportation to and from school for testing students. Transportation information will be posted on our website. Students are to report to school at their normal time and will be released at 1:15 unless you give permission for your child to leave early. Students must have an "Early Release Permission Slip" submitted prior to leaving the school building early. All testing days will be asynchronous learning days meaning that students will complete assignments at home, online and independently, as teachers proctor the exam. If a student DOES NOT need to test, they are not to report to school but will be required to complete their assignments online. We will administer the state exams as follows:

  • April 20th- English Test (Grades 7, 8 and 10) If you are a 9th grade student taking 10th grade English, you must test.

  • April 27th- Math Test (Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10)

  • April 29th- Government, Biology, 8th Grade Science Test (Students who have completed Government this school year and are currently taking Biology and 8th Grade Science)

Email Mrs. Meintel if you have any questions @

Reminder- During the above listed testing days, only students needing to test are to report. The school will only be open for state testing. Students at home are expected to complete assignments online.
