Valley High School Update


Academics Spring is almost here!! Tomorrow is an ODD orange day. Students, at the beginning of the semester, I shared strategies on how to have a great semester. As we get ready for Spring Break, *how is your academic performance? Are you communicating with your teachers? Are you staying engaged in your classes? Are you asking questions if you are confused or don't understand the content? Are you staying present the entire class period? This is a great time to assess how things are going and to make sure you are staying caught up in all your classes. We wanted to inform you of some important testing days* coming second semester: Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress testing (ISASP) will take place on April 19, 20 and 22. For students seeking resources to help with Social and/or Emotional issues, please click here. If there are any tech issues with Chromebooks, please use this link to request tech assistance.	Arts Great job by our Vocal Music students in Jazz and Show choirs as they celebrated the end of the competition season yesterday with outstanding performances! Orchestra students put on a beautiful evening of music last Thursday evening in the Performing Arts Center. Band students had an outstanding day of competition at the Virtual Perry Band Olympics where as a school, we received first in our class and FIRST overall! Great job musicians! Valley Drama will be presenting BRIGHT STAR as this year's Spring Musical. The performance dates are April 30, May 1 and May 2. Young Socialists is here to help VHS students learn about leftist issues and concepts. things like: Communism, Feminism, Anti-racism, LGBTQ+ rights, and more! Meetings are 3:30 PM Mondays in room 2349. Students interested in traveling to Europe should see Ms. Gray or Mrs. Romans for more information.
