A Note From Nurse Griffin

Nixon Families,

Seasons are changing and you know what that means: going through last years clothes to see what still fits and doesn’t fit your child! As you go through this joyful process (ha!), please keep the Nixon Health Office in mind for any donations!

In particular, I am seeking LEGGINGS and SWEATPANTS in solid colors (please no jeans/pants that button/zip) to keep in the event a student needs to change clothing during the school day. Stretchy bottoms allow me to utilize a wide variety of sizes and help to avoid any sensory triggers as well. Sizes 6-16 are appreciated!

I am also looking for donations of NEW underwear for both boys and girls in sizes 6-16 as well!

I have created an Amazon Wish List with these items in the event you would like to contribute in that way.

Thank you so much for keeping the Nixon Health Office in mind for donations!

Student Advisory Council Begins!

One time a month, children from each grade level come together to share, chat, and advise the principal on topics they think are important for the school. In previous years, these meetings have resulted in all-school dance parties, spirit days, and celebrations related to our core values. This is a valuable group and keeps the focus on children's views for our school.

Office Rico of the Sudbury Police Department joins School Meeting

School Resource Officer, Jess Latini and pup Officer Rico, presented at our all school meeting on Wednesday. The children had the opportunitiy to learn more about Rico and how he can support and assist with calming, connection, and positivity.

Officer Rico is a Facility dog and is expertly trained to partner with Officer Jess and work in the education setting. Rico is trained to perform service dog commands including picking up items, opening doors and providing calming pressure across a persons lap or body.
