Updated COVID Mitigation Strategy

This week Dr. Lang sent a letter to the CPS community about a shift in our mitigation strategies. The shift will include providing families with home tests to administer to students that can also be done in conjunction with our pool testing program. Please find Dr. Lang's letter below.

Home Health Screening

Please continue to monitor your child(ren) for symptoms and keep them home if they are experiencing any of the below symptoms.

Communicate any absences to our Byam absence line and your homeroom teacher. If the absence is from illness and symptoms persist contact your child's healthcare provider and Nurse Regan.

For more information on COVID-19 symptoms and testing, visit:

If your child tests positive at home or their doctor's office for COVID-19, contact Nurse Regan at You will receive procedures for your student's quarantining and return to school.

Thank you for helping keep Byam School safe and healthy by monitoring your child(ten) for possible symptoms on a daily basis and following protocols of keeping students at home when not feeling well.

Reminder: Byam Volunteer One-Day-And-Done Program

Many individuals in our community are understandably not able to commit to a consistent substitute schedule, but would like to help support Byam in some way. This program provides a way for parents/guardians or grandparents to provide "one day and done" flexibility of volunteer tutoring support in a Byam classroom between the hours of 8:45-3:15. Participants will be assigned to a classroom other than their own child''s/grandchild's classroom. Communication of a requested day in many cases will be inquired by the Byam office within 1-2 days prior to volunteer day. All volunteers must be CORI'd. If more than one member of a child's family is interested, please submit a form for each individual separately. Call our Byam office at 978-251-5144 with any questions.

Interested participants complete google form at below link:
