Soccer Practices and Games

Tuesday (9/6) - Thursday (9/8)

All teams practice from 3:30-5:00

Families, your soccer player may stay at school with the coaches until 3:30.

Free Breakfast/Lunch Forms

All learners get free breakfast and lunch this year. Please still fill out the free and reduced lunch and income verification forms. This helps us secure funding for future years. If you need new copies, please let Pam know.

Health and Medical Forms

To ensure we can take the best care of your child in school, it's critical that we get these forms back. I will be staying after school from 4:00-4:30 every Wednesday to support families in completing these forms. Please come in, and we can walk through all of the questions together. Completing the form will take about 5 minutes. If you need an additional copy, please let our health assistant, Julie Elkins, know.

Updated Family School Handbook

It can be found on our website under Documents--> Quick Links.

Bus Information

GIS takes bus safety very seriously. We rely on our two outstanding drivers to be able to transport all kiddos home and will support them in upholding our school-wide expectations.

Be Kind

Be Safe

Be Engaged

You can find the general policy for bus incidents in our handbook.

Keeping Our School Safe

This is a proactive message meant to inform and communicate GIS expectations.

We believe in supporting all students to be Kind, Safe, and Engaged. Several people recently brought to my attention that one of the more recent toy trends is Huggy Wuggy. Huggy Wuggy is described here. GIS has not seen any Huggy Wuggy behaviors in our kiddos, and our hope is to keep it that way.

Please do not send your student to school with a Huggy Wuggy if they own one. We will also carefully monitor all school environments to ensure students are not mimicking Huggy Wuggy's behaviors.

To learn about this toy, several resources online exist:

Thank you for helping to keep all students safe!

Thank You

We made it through the first week of school, and I was so impressed by what I saw in the classrooms! Here at GIS, we have some of the most committed, devoted, and supportive teachers I have ever worked with. Kids are engaged in learning expectations, creating friendships, and understanding how to navigate being back in school. They are doing amazing work!

I feel truly fortunate to be a part of this community. Thank you for your emails, waves, check-ins, and kindness.
