Updates/Reminders
THIS WEEK: A LOT is going on this week! We need everyone to look at the field day lunch schedule and remediation plan coverage schedule carefully so we can make things roll smoothly this week.
3rd - 5th Grade Teachers/Support Staff: Please make sure you are reaching out to families that you haven't heard from regarding retesting. If you need help, ask support staff (ESL, EC, counselor, social worker) to help you call. Many families have emailed worried about their child not being proficient and a phone call may help parents understand and will also get us needed information for retesting. Many kids were successful on the retest last year...it is smaller group and they have just experienced it and now know what to expect.
End of Year Checklist: Please work toward the End of Year Checklist as you can. Reach out to support staff for help as appropriate.
Parent Survey - Our leadership team and MTSS team discussed the idea of sending parents a survey. One is included in the Weekly Newsletter for parents. I will send you questions, so that you can see what parents are being asked.
Bulletin Boards/Work Displayed in Halls - Classified staff, beginning Friday after kids leave, please help to make sure work in halls and bulletin boards are down. You can leave background paper up, but please take down everything else. We want things ready for a deep cleaning/touch up painting this summer and so we can start 18-19 with a fresh start!
EOY Celebrations: There are many grade level/classroom celebrations going on this week. If you are leaving your room, but expecting parents, please let front desk know so that we can receive parents with a smile and send them in the right direction.
End of Year Survey
Your voice matters! Please fill out this survey when you have time between now and the end of the year. We will use this data in our summer planning for the master schedule! All voices matter!
Weekly Note:
Feedback? Suggestions?....Here is the link to the Weekly Note!
Still need additional NCE time???? Click here for ideas of how we still need help around the building. You can earn time this week or next week from 3:30 - until 6:00!
Field Day
Message from Coach Horton regarding Field Day on Tuesday:
-PreK-2nd will be doing Field Day from 8:30-10:30
-3rd-5th will be doing Field Day from 12:30-2:30
A map and lunch schedule is being placed in your box. The Field Day Lunch Schedule is found here (IAs, please see the changes because lunch duty times have changed for this day). On the map you will see your name and starting time highlighted at a station. That is the station where your class will begin. From there, you will follow along to the next numbered station until the rotation is complete. Please try your best to be on time! This will insure Field Day runs efficiently and that our students get ample time at each station. Each station shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask beforehand.
Some of you have also asked about parent volunteers. Any parent who would like to help out can meet me in the Gym at 8:00 that morning. I will give parent volunteers the information and directions they need.
Remediation Plan
IAs, Support Staff, and 3rd-5th grade teachers please look at the schedule carefully as we have several areas that need to be covered. Please be prompt to your assigned room so we do not lose remediation time.
Packing up the classroom/Retesting:
- We are not going to be able to pack-up classrooms and put all desks/chairs out in the hallway the same as usual. We will have quite a number of students in the building through next Wednesday (6/13). We are unable to even know how many rooms/admins/proctors we will need for retesting until letters come back. Please do not begin putting things out in the hall at the end of the week until you get the all clear from us with a testing plan.
- Please begin sending home student things early this week. We can't hold things over the summer for anyone. The only thing that we will want up in the office are report cards that are not sent home. Personal materials can't be stored.
Our Bus Drivers were honored this week. They are awesome!
