GREEN TREE ELEMENTARY

SIX HOUSES, ONE FAMILY

WELCOME BACK GATORS

SEPTEMBER ESSENTIAL- Make eye contact & respond respectfully when interacting with others.

  • Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all times. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person.

  • During discussions, respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. When possible, make statements like, “I agree with John, and I also feel that…” or “I disagree with Sara. She made a good point, but I feel that…”

  • If you are asked a question in a conversation, ask a question in return. It is only polite to show others that you are just as interested in them as they are in you.

  • Do not smack your lips, tsk, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures.

  • Always say thank you when given something. There is no excuse for not showing appreciation.

  • When you are given something from someone, never insult that person by making negative comments about the gift or by insinuating that it wasn’t appreciated.

  • In conversations with others, it is important to use complete sentences. For example, if a person asks, “ How are you?’ instead of just responding “Fine,” you should say, “I’m doing fine, thank you. How about yourself?”

Please send your proof of residency to the email address associated with the school your oldest child attends: Residency Proof Email Addresses by Building.

For the list of approved documents, please see the District website.

New enrollments will be required to provide full proof of residency documentation.

If you have already provided residency proof, thank you! Please contact your school's secretary or registrar for further information.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO AND FOR STARTING OUR YEAR OUT AMAZING!

AFTERNOON CAR PICK-UP

If you plan to pick up your child in the afternoon, please make sure you are prepared. The office should be notified by 2:00 p.m. if your child has a change in transportation home. All vehicles should have an orange tag hanging from their rear view mirror. Please ensure your child's last name is written at the top of the card in bold black letters so it is easy to see from at least 10 feet in front of the vehicle.

If you do not have a tag in your car, you will be asked for a driver's license to confirm that you are authorized to pick up the student. Once confirmed, you will be given an orange tag for your vehicle. Most families keep the tag in their glove box. We appreciate your help keeping the students safe and the routine running smoothly.
