GREEN TREE ELEMENTARY
SIX HOUSES, ONE FAMILY
WELCOME BACK GATORS
SEPTEMBER ESSENTIAL- Make eye contact & respond respectfully when interacting with others.
Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all times. If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person.
During discussions, respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. When possible, make statements like, “I agree with John, and I also feel that…” or “I disagree with Sara. She made a good point, but I feel that…”
If you are asked a question in a conversation, ask a question in return. It is only polite to show others that you are just as interested in them as they are in you.
Do not smack your lips, tsk, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with gestures.
Always say thank you when given something. There is no excuse for not showing appreciation.
When you are given something from someone, never insult that person by making negative comments about the gift or by insinuating that it wasn’t appreciated.
In conversations with others, it is important to use complete sentences. For example, if a person asks, “ How are you?’ instead of just responding “Fine,” you should say, “I’m doing fine, thank you. How about yourself?”

⭐SOME NEW FACES AT GTE⭐
My name is Allison May and I will be joining the GTE family as a first grade teacher for the 2021-2022 school year! I graduated from Maryville University last May with my B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. You might recognize me from my time in Green Tree last year student teaching in first grade and substitute teaching in fifth! I am currently living in O'Fallon. I grew up in Warrenton, MO with my parents and older sister, who is now a nurse. I have one dog, a shih tzu named Otis. I spend my free time seeing my friends, playing games with my family, and being outdoors. I am beyond excited to join the GTE family and the kindergarten team to make this a great school year!
Hey everyone, my name is Kyle Barras (Bar-uh). I’ll be filling some big shoes in the Gym next year. I’m joining GTE from Journey. I coach football at Timberland and my wife and I are expecting our first child in October! I’m so excited to join the GTE family. I hope everyone has a great summer and I look forward to meeting you all in August.
I am Ashley Kluver, one of the new Special Education Teachers and a former student at Green Tree Elementary! I am coming from Timberland High School, where I spent my first two years of teaching. It has always been my dream to work in an elementary school, so I am very excited to take on this new position working with a younger group of students! In my free time, I enjoy working on (very) small projects/yard work at my house and spending plenty of time with my two Golden Retrievers! I look forward to getting to know all of you this school year!

❤GTE LOVES OUR PTO❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO AND FOR STARTING OUR YEAR OUT AMAZING!
AFTERNOON CAR PICK-UP
If you plan to pick up your child in the afternoon, please make sure you are prepared. The office should be notified by 2:00 p.m. if your child has a change in transportation home. All vehicles should have an orange tag hanging from their rear view mirror. Please ensure your child's last name is written at the top of the card in bold black letters so it is easy to see from at least 10 feet in front of the vehicle.
If you do not have a tag in your car, you will be asked for a driver's license to confirm that you are authorized to pick up the student. Once confirmed, you will be given an orange tag for your vehicle. Most families keep the tag in their glove box. We appreciate your help keeping the students safe and the routine running smoothly.
