Note from Mrs. Craft
Dear Hart Families,
We have had an amazing two days of school. This short week is definitely a great way to ease all of us back into the school routine. In Kindergarten, our students explored the school by going on a scavenger hunt adventure searching for Chester the Raccoon, a character from The Kissing Hand. Although they did not find him since he had to get back to his book, he left a surprise behind for our students. As you can see, our students and teachers are working hard to build relationships with their classmates and learn procedures all while having FUN!
Thank you for your patience with our arrival and dismissal procedures. As a reminder, school begins daily at 7:50, and we end at 3:25. Here are a few tips to help us be more efficient.
Arrival:
- If you arrive in the mornings between 7:15 - 7:35, you will not have a wait.
- If someone is not there to open your car door, then your child can exit the car on their own. If they can't, then pull forward, and someone will open it for you.
- The driver should not exit their car at any time.
- The far entrance off Estelle (by the playground) is an exit only from 7:15 - 8:00.
- If your child is a walker and/or arrives in a golf cart, etc., then you should park outside the fence and walk up to the school through the middle of the fence crosswalk. The far crosswalk is closed during morning drop-off.
Dismissal:
- For Park & Pickup, you must have your car tag with your child's number and join the lines behind the cones. For your child's safety, we will not release them until you are in the line.
- We highly encourage you to not line up before 3:00 in the car or Park & Pick Up line.
Please watch your speed in our parking lot and the surrounding areas. Thanks in advance for helping us have a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I hope that you enjoy your weekend.
All My Best,
Wendy Craft

ACTION NEEDED - SCHOOL DISMISSAL MANAGER
Hart Families,
Welcome to School Dismissal Manager! Using School Dismissal Manager with your desktop or smartphone browser, you can quickly and easily update instructions when your child's dismissal needs to be changed. School Dismissal Manager notifies the school of your updates so that, effective August 21sr, it is no longer necessary for you to phone the school, send notes, or send an email to inform the school of dismissal changes. School Dismissal Manager will provide us with a more organized and efficient tracking system for afternoon dismissals. Please note that this is they same system that we used last year, but you must update it for this school year.
The easy-to-use mobile and desktop interface will allow you to make these changes in advance or for the current day. At Hart, we want you to utilize School Dismissal Manager to indicate a change in your child's default dismissal plan and to let us know if you are checking your child out early. Free apps are also available for Android and iPhone users.
To login, you will be issued a username and temporary password through an email from School Dismissal Manager. You should receive your email by Monday, August 14th.
Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students. Every parent must go in and set your child's default by Friday, August 26th! Please contact Janean Mancini (janean_mancini@lovejoyisd.net) if you have any questions or concerns.
Texting with Teachers
We are excited that the district will be utilizing Bright Arrow which will allow teachers to send "blast" texts and emails to our parents. As part of the district's Technology Acceptable Use Policy, we are asking teachers to refrain from texting with our parents. We are doing this in order to preserve our teacher's personal time and ensure confidentiality for all students. We know communication is important, and we encourage you to email, send a message in SeeSaw, or call the teacher on the school line. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Lunch & Treats
How do I put money into my child's lunch account?
If you would like to put money on your child's account to pay for lunch or "extras," please choose one of the following ways. As a reminder, a school lunch costs $3.50.
- Put money (cash or check) in a sealed envelope with your child's first and last name and homeroom teacher on it. Send it to school with your child, and they can deliver it to the cafeteria.
- Visit MySchoolBucks by clicking here and put money on your child's account electronically.
BIRTHDAY TREATS
Birthday treats may be purchased from our student nutrition department. This not only benefits student nutrition but also helps us ensure the safety of our students with allergies and dietary needs. Please notify your child's teacher that you have ordered birthday treats so we do not have two birthdays celebrated on the same day. In order to minimize disruption of instruction, we ask that birthday treats/celebrations are for students and their classmates (no parent visitors). **THE FORM WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.
Safety Corner with Marshal Smith
Welcome to Hart! It is awesome to see students in our building again. When visitors are allowed in our building, I wanted to remind all of you that you MUST enter and exit through the front doors. Once you enter the building, then you check-in at our office where you will receive a Visitor's badge and lanyard. In order to check-in, you need to have your Driver's license. Once you are in our building, please do NOT open any other doors for community members. Thank you in advance for keeping our Leopards safe.
