CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS POSTER - SUPPORT SUNSHINE CLUB!

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children. Yet, only four percent of national cancer research funding is allocated for pediatrics.

In January of 2019, a student in the Walnut Valley School district lost his battle against leukemia after numerous rounds of chemotherapy, two failed transplants, and countless side effects and complications. Throughout his journey, his sister witnessed firsthand, the heartbreaking struggles and sufferings pediatric cancer patients endured. This inspired the start of Sunshine Club at Diamond Bar High School. The primary mission is to brighten the lives of pediatric cancer patients and to raise awareness in our community, so people are more motivated to contribute towards finding a cure.

With September being pediatric cancer awareness month, Sunshine Club is taking this opportunity to bring attention to the lack of funding for pediatric cancer research and to raise money for this worthy cause. Sunshine Club is raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It is the only research hospital in the nation to conduct cutting edge studies toward finding a cure and to provide free quality care. You can donate to St. Jude via this link: http://events.stjude.org/sunshineclub. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.

To further raise funds for this cause, Sunshine Club is holding used book sales every weekend in September. The dates for the book sales are listed below:

9/07-9/08 at Diamond Bar Albertsons (1235 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 91765)

9/14-9/15 at Diamond Bar Walmart (1180 S Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar, CA 9176

9/21-9/22 at Diamond Bar Albertson

9/28-9/29 at Diamond Bar Walmart

All of the proceeds from the used book sales will be going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
