Letter from the Principal
Dowling Families,
I am fortunate to have met many of you already. I am delighted to begin my 32nd year in education right here at Dowling! This campus is full of curious and engaged scholars with teachers and staff who are committed to providing the very best education for your children. I encourage you to stay in communication with your child's teacher and consider becoming a volunteer in a way that works with your schedule. You are THE most important part of your scholar's success. Always know that we are here to assist you in any way we are able. Feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns or celebrations. I look forward to the best year ever!

Attendance
This year, our goal is to have 95% attendance every day.
If your child is sick, please have them bring a doctor's note once they return. Students should stay home if they are running a fever, have diarrhea, are vomiting, or have tested positive for COVID. The student must be symptom-free for 24 hours WITHOUT the use of medication before they can return.
The state of Texas allows a student a set number of excused OR unexcused absences. When a student surpasses that number (10% of all school days), the student may have to repeat the grade level.
Arrival and Dismissal
1. Make sure your child is sitting on the passenger side of the car.
2. As you pull up and stop, the child needs to be able to unbuckle and grab their backpack and exit the car on their own.
3. Please don't get out of the car to walk around and help your student. This makes our car line slow down.
Dismissal:
1. Students who ride the bus or attend after-school daycare will ALWAYS be placed on the bus unless a parent/guardian calls the office BEFORE 3:00. Do not message the teacher. You must call the office.
2. We will have pickup tags ready for parents soon. Once these are issued, you MUST have the pickup tag in order for us to release the student. You can send it through a text message if you are allowing another family member or friend to pick up your student.
3. In the event that no pickup tag is available, you will be asked to park and go to the office to provide a driver's license before we release the student.
