Dear Pawsome Loring Families,
During our Daily Announcements, we have been highlighting the different flags and sharing some facts about the country. So far we have discussed and highlighted Ireland, Belgium, Brazil, Jamaica, and Canada.
I also wanted to share that as a school we collected 40 boxes of food pantry donations and as a district 177 boxes. A huge shout out to our caring community!
Daily Annoucements
During our daily announcements, we have been practicing saying HELLO and GOOD MORNING in Irish and Dutch. If you do not speak these languages at home, we encourage you to practice these phrases with your children.
Hello in Irish
Dia Duit (Dee ah gwit)
Good Morning in Dutch
Geodemorgen (Who di more hen)
This week we had a few 5th graders join our morning announcements and talk about Inclusion and the importance of being inclusive. This was a nice culmination of our Inclusive Schools month focus. These students shared an acrostic poem they wrote. Here is the poem.
I - Invite others to join
N - No matter who they are
C - Commit to everyone
L - Let everyone join in
U - U can be inclusive
S - Support other’s
I - Include
O - Observe others kindness
N - No matter how they look

Black History Month
Next month is Black History Month. We will be sharing resources and information in my next newsletter and there will be many fabulous books displayed in our lobby as well as learning in classrooms and school.
Car Drop Off Clarification
We know many people have had questions about what constitutes tardy when it comes to car drop off. I am hopeful this helps to clarify. Our goal is to have students in classrooms as close to 7:55 am as possible as that is the true start of the day. Thanks to your commitment to having students here on time each day.
- The gate for car drop off will close promptly at 7:55 am.
- Any car that passes through the gate will not have their student marked tardy.
- Students should only unload between the gym and library doors. Please do not let your student out along the sidewalk before this area. The library door will remain open to let the last group of students in.
- If you arrive after 7:55 and the gate is closed you will be directed to the front door to sign your child in via the QR code and your child will be marked tardy.
- Students should not be dropped off anywhere other than the car drop off line or the front door when being signed in tardy. Stopping cars anywhere else causes a dangerous situation as cars and buses are coming and going.
We understand mornings can be tricky and we need to all work together to get our students in classrooms on time.

Loring Core Values
At Loring School, we are PAWSOME because we show our Core Values! These values are part of everyday life at Loring and reinforced in the classroom, at recess, and all around our school.
Students are taught the meaning of each word and how they make us better students and citizens.
Respect ~ Responsibility ~ Caring ~ Best Effort
The Loring Pledge
The Loring Pledge is said every morning during our daily announcements. Loring students embody our pledge and we hope this stays with them not only when they are at school but at home as well.
I am respectful.
