Knightly Update October 10, 2021
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 12
Welcome to the second quarter! I hope everyone had a very nice fall break, enjoyed the time off and is ready to get the second quarter started. I took some time to travel to my hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico and enjoyed going to the International Balloon Fiesta, visiting with friends and dining at some of my favorite restaurants. It was nice to get away for a few days with my family.
We have a very busy and exciting quarter to look forward to starting with homecoming. Homecoming Week is the week of October 19th and members of StuGo have been working tirelessly to plan the week's events. This year's Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 23rd in our school's courtyard and students in all grades may attend. Tickets for this year's dance will be on sale starting Tuesday and can be purchased in our school's bookstore ($15 for students with an activity card; $30 for students without). Students will need to listen to the daily announcements for ticket information. Additional details about this year's homecoming events will be shared in next week's update.
Also this quarter is the administration of the PSAT and taking of semester final exams. The PSAT will be given to students in 9th-11th grade on October 26th. Students who chose not to pay for the PSAT will still take the exam, but will not receive a score report. Seniors will be participating in a college workshop while underclassmen take the PSAT. Final exams will also be administered at the end of the semester on December 15th & 16th. More information about final exams will be shared later this quarter. In the meantime, please note that no early exams may be administered. In the event a student is absent on the day of final exams, they will need to make-up the exam when they return from winter break. Please look for additional information in future Knightly Updates.
Another exciting event that we have to look forward to is the naming ceremony our school's athletic stadium. This ceremony will be on Friday, October 22nd before kickoff at our homecoming game. More details will be shared in next week's update about this ceremony, but it will definitely be a memorable night.
I look forward to seeing our students on Tuesday and hearing about their fall break adventures. As always, if you have any questions, please contact me. I hope everyone has a great second quarter. See you on Tuesday, Knights!
Rob Bickes
Principal

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
