Early Release on December 17th and 18th
All campuses will have early release on December 17th and 18th! We will dismiss at 11:30 on both days, and there will not be afternoon Pre-K or PPCD classes. All transportation changes for both days will need to be called in by Wednesday, December 16th. Transportation changes will not be accepted on Thursday or Friday. If you are going to be on campus Friday for winter parties, please call Veronica x4503 on Thursday to have your visitor’s badge pre-printed. If you are checking your child out after his/her winter party, your child’s teacher will have a sign out sheet in the classroom. Once you sign your child out, you will receive a colored ticket to bring to the front office. This will let the front office staff know that your child is leaving with you for the day.
Interested in the District Educational Improvement Process?
The 2015-2016 District Educational Improvement Council has two open positions: one (1) parent representative position and one (1) business representative position.
The purpose of the District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) is to advise the District in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals, objectives, and major District-wide classroom instructional programs. The committee serves exclusively in an advisory role. Parent, community, and business representatives are volunteer appointments. All representatives serve staggered two-year terms. Members are not limited as to the number of consecutive terms they may serve on DEIC.
The DEIC holds 4-6 meetings each spring, typically on Wednesday or Thursday evenings.
You may access the 2015-2016 DEIC Application by visiting http://www.lagovistaisd.net/users/0001/docs/DEIC%20Application.pdf.
Applications must be received by December 15, 2015. Please submit your application by scanning and emailing it to suzy_lofton@lagovista.txed.net.
