#StillKleinStrong
This week has been an affirmation that we are #StillKleinStrong, one year after the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. As I reflect on that time one year ago, I am still awed by the outpouring of kindness and community that our students, teachers, and staff displayed for the weeks and months following the unprecedented flooding in our community. This post in the Exchange this week, We are Harvey Healthy…A Year Later by Cynthia Jimenez from McDougle Elementary, captures that memory well! As we wear your Klein, we remember those who are still rebuilding their lives and reflect with gratitude for the many ways our community loved and supported one another post-Harvey (and let’s keep that #Culture4Caring going strong in our Klein ISD Family!)
Relationship Driven: #purposefulkindness
PASS IT ON- honor your students and colleagues with a note.
#purposefulkindness note cards can be found in any of the grade level offices, the front office, and in the teacher's lounge.

#DoerreStrong: Each month we will host a community building activity for our students living in residential treatment centers and foster care. The goal is to help them connect with our school community and feel as though they belong. We will feed the students and their caregivers, then attend a Doerre event together. September's event will be a Kick Off The School Year at a Doerre football game. A sign up list for food will be sent in next week's Doerre News.
