Cougars' Illustrated

"In it, to win it!"

Week of November 16th thru November 24th, 2015

Core Beliefs

  • Our main purpose is to improve student academic achievement.
  • Effective instruction makes the most difference in student academic performance.
  • There is no excuse for poor quality instruction.
  • With our help, at risk students will achieve at the same rate as non-at risk students.
  • Staff members must have a commitment to children and a commitment to the pursuit of excellence

Spelling Bee

Please take time during class to work with students on Spelling Bee words. Do it is a brain break and turn it into a game. Do it as a hall routine asking students to spell different words.

Only students in grades 4 through 8 may participate in the district, city, and national bee.

  • Our Spelling Bee will be held prior to December 4th. C. F. Carr will send 2 students, the school winner and runner-up, to the district bee.
  • The district bee will be held on January 12th.

We have some really smart students, let show the world what we have!

If you have questions, please see Mr. Maldonado.

Deepening Your Professional Knowledge and Practice Series

The goal of this series is to introduce short snippets from professional articles geared towards growing us as professional intellectual educators. (TEI Domain 1, 2, 3 and 4)
The last video is secondary focused, but look at it in a new light. Look at it from the view point, "I taught him or her in kindergarten, second grade or fifth grade." Am I sending this type of student on to Edison or Pinkston? If not, what do I do now?
