Core Beliefs

Spelling Bee
Please take time during class to work with students on Spelling Bee words. Do it is a brain break and turn it into a game. Do it as a hall routine asking students to spell different words.
Only students in grades 4 through 8 may participate in the district, city, and national bee.

- Our Spelling Bee will be held prior to December 4th. C. F. Carr will send 2 students, the school winner and runner-up, to the district bee.
- The district bee will be held on January 12th.
We have some really smart students, let show the world what we have!

Building Stamina in Reading: Goals for 3rd Six Weeks
3rd grades' goal:
Nov. 16th-24th: 15 min
Nov. 30th - Dec. 4: 20 min
Dec. 7th - 11th: 25 min
4th grades' goal:
Nov. 16th-24th: 15 min
Nov. 30th - Dec. 4: 20 min
Dec. 7th - 11th: 25 min
5th grades' goal:
Nov. 16th-24th: 20 min
Nov. 30th - Dec. 4: 25 min
Dec. 7th - 11th: 30 min
At the end of each week, the class with the most students meeting stamina will be the week’s winner. A small prize will be awarded.
At the end of the six weeks, the individuals who meet the daily stamina goal (established by the teacher) at least 15 times will be invited to Cougar Club.

Deepening Your Professional Knowledge and Practice Series
The goal of this series is to introduce short snippets from professional articles geared towards growing us as professional intellectual educators. (TEI Domain 1, 2, 3 and 4)
The last video is secondary focused, but look at it in a new light. Look at it from the view point, "I taught him or her in kindergarten, second grade or fifth grade." Am I sending this type of student on to Edison or Pinkston? If not, what do I do now?
