IT’S TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!
When it comes to teachers, Chandler High’s are the best and make a difference in students’ lives every day. Show your appreciation by thanking an educator this week.
NHS “TAP IN”
201 new members were "tapped" into NHS last week. Additionally, 180 returning members were officially "tapped" into NHS since they missed out on their opportunity last year. These students exemplify scholarship and character and have expressed the desire to demonstrate leadership and service. Congratulations to our NHS members for their hard work and dedication.
CHS AUTO SHOW
The Chandler Auto Club had its third Annual Car Show on April 24, 2021. The event was larger than previous years with 25 cars entered in the show. The students had fun and were able to talk with the owners of the cars to learn more about those cars and how to make the show better for next year. It was a great success!
LINK CREW TRAINING
On Friday, April 30th, our new 2021-2022 Link Leaders had their first training day to prepare to welcome next year’s freshmen to Chandler High School. The group of 90+ current sophomores and juniors had fun participating in team building activities and spent time discussing the vision for Link Crew and the best ways we can be helpful and welcoming to the Wolves that will join our pack in July.
HBCU COLLEGE FAIR
CHS’s Black Student Union (BSU) hosted an HBCU College Fair during lunches last Friday. Do you have additional questions about historically Black colleges and universities? See a BSU member or Mrs. Milczarek in the Chandler High College and Career Center.
APAC/COMPANY THEATRE VIRTUAL PRESENTATION
CHS’s APAC/Company Theatre presented its bi-annual Bookends show that promotes a love for reading to the younger students in our district. CHS’s theatre students usually get to go to the elementary schools and perform live and in-person, but this year they provided the program virtually. The theme is Dynamic Duos and Iconic Groups and stories include “Batman and Robin” by Grant Morrison, “Wizard of Oz” by Frank Baum, “Scooby Doo: Stage Fright!” by Kate Howard, and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” by J.K. Rowling. Excellent work, APAC!
STUCO JUVENILE DIABETES WALK
Student Council is proud to support the Arizona chapter of JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The JDRF is working to help support research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. This past Saturday, StuCo participated in a virtual walk through downtown Chandler to raise awareness for JDRF. Click on the link below if you would like to donate to JDRF.
