Learning Coach Connection
Learning coaches are invited....Zoom Meeting
WE MISS YOU!!!!
Social Distancing...While we need to have a clear distance between others, we can still connect socially. Just virtually!!
I wanted to invite learning coaches to connect virtually using the Zoom website. This is NOT required. Planned topics will be re-registration, yearbook, and Q & A. So, be sure to mark your calendar and join us for some adult interaction, laughs, and hopefully some sanity!!
WHEN: Wednesday, March 25th @ 10am
K12 Re-Registration
Re-registration in K12 has opened up to all OVS families.
Please take a moment to sign into the parent portal, find your students name, and click re-register for next year. You will be able to choose registering, not registering, or undecided.
You will need to be the legal guardian of the learner to re-register this year. If you have any issues, please contact Brooke. Here is a video to help you through the process.
Virtual Field Trips and Learning
Our students are well equipped to continue learning during school closures, but if you want to add some extra fun to your day, here are some local resources for online "field trips" and learning.
The Durham Museum will be doing tours of different areas of the museum via Zoom next week. Each day is a different section of the museum. Sign up for the free Zoom class using the link here.
The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo is offering the zoo from home! Click here to access online content and activities such as a day in the life of a zookeeper.
If you want to "travel" virtually, here are some other great virtual learning resources. Virtual field trips
OVS Directory
The OVS school directory is now complete and ready for you to use. There are tabs at the bottom that have all students, and students sorted by day of attendance. Please note, students are only listed if parents filled out the form to be included. Please contact Brooke if you are not included and wish to be added.
If you requested a printed copy in the form, you should have received it at conferences. If you did not request a printed copy, but you would like one now, please contact Brooke.
ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK, TODAY!
We will have an ALL School yearbook this year! If you haven't already, you should receive an email from TreeRing.com to create an account to purchase your learner's yearbook AND to create a personalized page for your family.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Kitko at christmas.kitko@ops.org.

Safe2HelpNE
The City of Omaha, Omaha Police Department, Boys Town National Hotline and area school districts are collaborating on a platform that allows students, families and even staff to anonymously report safety concerns to trained counselors and law enforcement. Those concerns may be about personal safety, self-harm, or threats against another person or the community.
You may have seen coverage of the partnership and platform in local media this week.
Safe2HelpNE Basics
Safe2HelpNE references three ways to share information:
- Online at www.Safe2HelpNE.org
- Through the Safe2HelpNE mobile app available for free in the Apple and Google Play stores
- By phone to (531) 299-SAFE
Safety is our priority and we are grateful to a strong community resource available to us.
