GRE Staff Newsletter
January 20, 2020
Dear Team,
Katie and I have loved coming around and checking out all of the amazing things happening in your reading blocks. We saw clear teaching points, kids reading at their level, students engaged in meaningful independent reading and so much more. A couple of our check ins were cancelled due to the delay. If this effected you, please invite us back in so we can celebrate all your hard work. We are also excited to help support you in meeting your reading and writing resolutions. They are now hung in my office and will be used to guide future professional development.
I hope you will take time to read all of the Martin Luther King Jr. quotes I put in today's newsletter. I was so inspired reading his words and reflecting on the difference he made. I hope they inspire you too!
Here's to a great week!
Kate

2. The PBIS committee met this past Wednesday. Check out the signs in the lounge, these are our first draft of our new signs we will display around the school. Please leave any feedback on the post its hanging on the board in the staff lounge. The committee also worked on lessons for reteaching expectations and a new morning announcement series. 5. Two housekeeping items today. Please make sure that you are pausing and double checking your color printing. We've had several large print jobs done in color that appear to be an accident. Also, please make sure you are checking your mailbox daily and cleaning it out. We want to make sure that items we place in your mailbox get home to students in a timely manner.
6. There will be a short staff meeting with Angie and Jeremy this Wednesday, January 22nd from 3:45-4:00 PM in the STEM Hub. They will be sharing important information about the upcoming levy. Please plan to attend. This event has been added to the staff google calendar as well.
7. I began my 2nd round of Walkthroughs for those of you on Full OTES this past week. As I'm getting back in etpes, I'm noticing that many of you have not pinned your Fall walkthrough and observation. Please make sure you are reading through your evaluation and pinning them. If you need help, please let me know.
8. Each year, we have a State of the Schools event to inform the community of all aspects of the district. This year, the State of the Schools took the form of the January edition of The Eagle Examiner.
