The Bang Bear News
Ramona Bang Elementary - May, 2018
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This week during a special CFISD recognition evening, our “Teacher of the Year”, kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Rosana Andrade, was honored. Congratulations, Mrs. Andrade! Thank you for all you do in bringing out the very best in our Bang Bears.
As we prepare to close out this school year, we want to thank all of our parents and families for sending us your precious children and entrusting them to us. We are thankful for the opportunity to share in a year of learning and hope that they are inspired to continue to learn and to seek opportunities to challenge themselves this summer. I thank you for partnering with us as we strive to provide an excellent learning environment for our students. It is our sincere belief home + school working together = student success. Our goal is to prepare our precious Bang bears for graduation and beyond. One of my favorite times of the year is sitting on stage at the Berry Center for the Jersey Village H.S. graduation ceremony and watching our former Bang students receive their diplomas.
Our campus will be closed this summer because of renovations.
Thanks so much for your understanding and support.

Credit-by-exam
Students in grades K-5 will have four opportunities during the school year to use “credit-by-exam” to accelerate to another grade level. Students will only have one opportunity to test for each grade level considered.
To apply to take the test to skip kindergarten, a student must be 5 by September 1, and registered in a CFISD school. To apply to take the test to skip grade 1, a student must be 6 by September 1, and enrolled in a CFISD school.
Students who earn scores of 80% or better on each component of the credit-by-exam will qualify to advance one grade. Only one grade level may be “skipped” each year. No retests will be given.
If you are interested in getting more information about credit-by-exam, please contact the school counselor.
