Celebrating Merton students and staff!
As the Winter continues to drag on, the staff and students are doing an incredible job academically and behaviorally. Our Scientists are learning about everything from atoms to owl pellets to engineering. Our Social Studies classes are learning about Wisconsin and government. Our artists continue to produce creative work. Our musicians are becoming more and more adept at performing. Our mathematicians are learning about everything from fractions to Algebra to Geometry. Our readers and writers are building stamina and reading and writing more than I can ever remember. I am inspired by all of our students and staff each and every day.
4th grade recess, before Winter came again
We are hoping that Spring will arrive soon.
5th grade Engineering Olympics collaboration
The 5th graders are creating some awesome solutions.
Wednesday assembly
The students are ready for our Wednesday assembly. Here is a link to the presentation for the assembly, "Be a Dreamer!"
Requests for homework for family vacations
At this time of year, many families take off for vacations. These can be great learning experiences for your child, but school continues. As per school board policy 4001.5, most assignments will be given to your child when he/she returns to school. If you want your child to keep up on their school work while on vacation, please check Skyward as assignments are posted regularly.
Conferences- Not the last conversation for the school year!
Thank you to all who attended conferences over the last week. Please don't let this be the last conversation you have with your child's teacher or school. Stay involved by checking Skyward, emailing your child's teacher or me, and talking to your child about their school day. Families and our school are two parts of a team to help your child learn and grow. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
Recycling program expanded
This week we expanded our recycling program with our students and staff. We now are able to recycle paper, cans, plastic bottles, and milk cartons! This move will help us keep our community green while reducing the amount of items we send to land fills and increasing the amount of items being sent to our recycling centers. It will take a little training of both students and staff, but it will be well worth it.
Culver's Night Wednesday, March 19th
Visit the Culver's located just off of Hwy. 83 and Cardinal Lane in Hartland on Wednesday, March 19th from 5:00-8:00PM and enjoy a meal or treat. Culver's will donate a portion of the evening's proceeds to us! See the full page flyer on the Mustang Memo website for details.
