Veteran's Day Information: From Related Arts
- Special events for grades throughout the morning (organized by related arts) – You could include these times in parent communication letting them know that veterans are welcome.
3rd & Kind (8:30-9:50); 4th & 1st (9:30-10:50); 5th & 2nd (10:30-11:50)
- Our theme this year is, “What make a Hero?”
- Mrs. Rutledge and Ms. Holliday will both be teaching about heroes during their classes in the next few weeks.
- We are asking that after Halloween, the teachers change their bulletin boards to display student work on the theme of heroes:
- Young Students: Have them draw a picture of a hero to display on the boards, etc.
- Older students: Have them write what a hero is to them & display it – could even include real pictures of people or family members who they see as heroes.
Ebinport Apparel: We will hold this order until Pay Day :)
Many of you have asked about ordering Ebinport apparel using your own personal money. Now is your chance. On the counter in the conference room is the Sanmar catalog along with the order sheet and design. You can also access the catalog at www.sanmar.com. Please place your order by Friday, Oct. 13. Make checks payable to Double B Graphix, place it in an sealed envelope, and give to Mr. Hollingsworth. The order will be placed on Oct. 16.
NO MEETING! NO MEETING! (ALL teachers who write objectives)
Want to avoid going to a meeting? Well...click here and view the ESOL Powerpoint on writing MPI (Model Performance Indicator)/Language Objectives. Take one of your Essential Standards, write an MPI/Language Objective and bring it by to Diane or Zulmarie to "check". If it is good, move forward and write more MPI's with your Essentials (have these in your plans). This MUST be done by October 27 at 2:45pm.
If this has not been completed by October 27, please plan on attending a face to face meeting to go through the PowerPoint and practice writing MPI's on November 8 at 2:45.
PBIS Staff of the Week
It is time to start selecting our PBIS staff of the week. Staff are divided into four sections, so be sure to select one staff member from each section you when vote. After you make your first selection, scroll to the bottom of the page and select next to get to the next list of staff members. We are looking for those who go above and beyond in both promoting and implementing PBIS methods as well as displaying them. Winners will be announced next week. Homeroom teachers will receive an email from me next week asking for the PBIS student of the week, and at the end of the month we will select a PBIS class of the month, which will be included in the Smore next week. Thank you for all you do!!!
