Weekly Update

Wishing you a happy, healthy and safe Christmas season,
and all the best in the New Year.
The faculty, staff and students of Saint Paul’s Choir School
What a tremendous celebration of Christmas we all enjoyed along with a packed house on Sunday! The Choir of men and boys was in great form as were our friends from the Back Bay Brass. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the concert as witnessed from the enthusiastic applause as well as singing during and at the end of the concert. A heartfelt thanks to all the boys in the choir and our stellar staff, James Kennerley and Maks Adach.
The Sunday concert followed a wonderful Britton Ceremony of Carols at Our Lady of Good Voyage Chapel in the Seaport. This beautiful chapel was commissioned only a few years ago but has the charm of a well-established destination. The boys sang wonderfully and were rewarded with free tickets to the Airport Skate Rink, which they will enjoy on Sunday afternoon.
Finally, parents and friends were charmed with a hearty Family Concert on Wednesday, featuring all the students in the school in one role or another. Our Schola led off with two ageless carols and the Servers recited poetry throughout the celebration. During the concert the pre-choristers had an opportunity to showcase their talents. Participants were invited to join in for an entertaining version of the Twelve Days of Christmas in which the different day’s gifts were sung by designated groups within the audience (e.g., administration sang “Lords a Leaping” and faculty sang “Geese a Laying”). Many thanks to Maks Adach for rehearsing, coaching poetry and directing the concert.
Homeless Lunch Concert: Our very own 3rd grader Caleb Casiano serenaded the participants in the Parish Advent Homeless meal program with a violin concerto. Afterwards our Choristers sang a few Christmas carols to warm the spirits of those attending.
Germany Fundraising: Mrs. Flaherty has created an online auction site as a wonderful opportunity to purchase some beautiful gifts from donations to the choir school or simply support one of the different activities for our upcoming Germany Tour. Here’s the link: https://spcs.schoolauction.net/fundraising/.
Our Pop-Up Shop was a huge success as boys picked out gifts for their family members and friends. We raised over $500 for the Germany Tour.
Thank you, Tom
GERMANY FUNDRAISING REQUEST
If every one reading this email shared our link and had one family member or friend donate, we will be in great shape. I posted to my personal Facebook page and was surprised that one of my neighbors follows my posts about school and was generous enough to sponsor us. You never know.
