Grab & Go Craft Kits and STEAM Kits available for pick-up! Stop by and pick up a kit while supplies last, or call the library at (309) 523-3440 to reserve a kit!
Fire Breathing Dragon Craft Kit:
Get creative with this month’s Fire Breathing Dragon Craft Kit! Follow the provided instructions to complete the dragon. Then, blow into the back of the Dragon’s head to control it’s fire!
Homemade Pan Flute STEAM Kit:
Learn about airflow and music with this month’s STEAM Kit! Make your very own pan flute, then create music! You can even write your own songs with the provided song sheets!
Story Time
For children of all ages. Story Time is back! Ms. Celeste will be having 30-minute sessions of in-person storytime per family! Masks are required.

Joanne Hachtel is a Port Byron resident, a volunteer docent at the Figge Art Museum, and a Friend of the River Valley District Library. She is a life-long reader and a lover of libraries.

Join us for our last presenter in May! Ernest M. Whiteman III, a Northern Arapaho filmmaker, artist, writer, and media educator, will explore the many representations of Native Americans in media and how these representations inform audiences’ perceptions of Native peoples and issues.

You asked! And it is back!!
The All Town Yard Sales!!!!! Yay!!! River Valley District Library is sponsoring the map to all your hidden treasures. The Friends of the Library will have several spaces for use at the library, with a free will donation. The library will also have a limited number of tables available for use, on a first come/first serve basis. You may call or stop by to turn in your name and information for the maps any time during normal library hours. A form will be available sometime during the week of May 10th to submit your information online. We will share it on Facebook and on our website at rivervalleylibrary.org. You MUST have your information turned in to the library by Friday, June 4th in order to be included on the map. Maps will be ready for pick up at the library sometime during the week of the sales.
