GRIT - Sticking it out in the face of obstacles and setbacks. Perseverance in order to achieve a long term goal.
A new school year, new administrators, new teachers, new students, new programs, in some ways it seems like new everything. I am feeling the pressure of change and I am sure many of you are as well. What will see us through this? GRIT!
GRIT, that intangible character trait take makes people a success, when on paper everything is seemingly stacked against them. At times, and more frequently lately in education, it feels like we are those people with everything stacked against them. But what better opportunity do we have to model what we so desperately want from our students than during these trying times when we buckle down, work through it, and show them our GRIT!
I see GRIT being demonstrated by our staff and our students everyday! Your efforts and their efforts will translate to success through demonstrating GRIT. Try, fail, and try again. Believe you will find success and keep setting your goals high. Together we will get to where we need to be because we have #GRIT and #WeAreOne!

“If you want to be a world changer for people everywhere, be a day maker for the people right next to you” - Kid President
Take some time this week to think about ways you have seen GRIT demonstrated so far this school year (teachers, students, secretaries, aides, custodians, cafeteria workers) and then tell them about it. Talk to them, write them a card, send an email, just don't let the week go without it being said! GO BE A DAY MAKER!
