Anita Roddick
The woman who changed early entrepreneurship as we know it.
Background
Anita Roddick was born in Sussex, Littlehampton on October 23rd, 1942. She attended Maude Allen Secondary. In 1962 she went to Israel. So far she has visited Tahiti, New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Reunion, Mauritis, Australia and South Africa. Before she started traveling she married Gordon Roddick who owned a restaurant and a hotel. While Gordon was traveling across the country, Anita created the Body Shop, A store using homemade products created from all green resources. The original cosmetics shop was very small with only a couple products, but soon became a very popular company.
Her Company Today
The Body Shop has become a massive franchise with thousands of stores and billions of customers across the United Kingdom. Anita has founded the Children On The Edge Charity and is involved with many other charities. Her products are still green and eco-friendly. Her products are not tested on animals. Her company is worth millions of dollars and is one of the largest and longest running franchises known today. Anita's company is the second most trusted in the UK.
Anita's Philanthropy
Anita Roddick has run a charity called The Children on The Edge that I have already mentioned. The reason she founded this was most likely because she had traveled to places where children don't have any education and sometimes don't even have any parents. This could be why her company is so popular, because she has no company secrets about anything except for privacy reasons.

Honors
Anita Roddick has accumulated many honors over the years because of her loyalty to her company. Here are some examples. She was appointed to Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. She also has the second most trusted company in the United Kingdom.
Family (That I know of)
Anita married Gordon Roddick and has 2 daughters, Sam and Justine. (I couldn't find much on her family tree.)
Anita Roddick
Anita Roddick believed that businesses had the power to change the world for good and that's what she did with her business, The Body Shop. Her company was made at the right time and place to get popular because more and more people were looking up to "greener" products and companies. This resulted in her store getting over one billion pounds of net worth. This also resulted in Anita and Gordon selling The Body Shop to L'Oreal for around six hundred million pounds. (One pound is around $1.50.)
Controversy
Anita had lots of controversy surrounding her business. One of the larger and more well known ones is why did she sell her company to L'Oreal? Anita and Gordon both knew that L'Oreal did animal testing before selling their products, something Anita was heavily campaigning to stop. This started many rumors.
