Staying connected with Walsh School
Greetings from Principal Martin
I don't think I have ever been more excited to welcome students to the building for school than I am right now! We have been missing our students since mid-March last year, and the school has been so lonely without them. We are excited to get children back to the classroom where we can watch the magic of teaching and learning in person. WELCOME TO WALSH (again)!
Next week will be an opportunity for kindergarten and first grade parents and students to meet the teacher, see the classroom and drop off school supplies. This will be by appointment only, made through the teacher, so watch for her email in the next day or two.
Dr. Arnold will be sending information related to the return to school, with a survey to indicate a desire to continue in remote learning or return to school with the hybrid / blended option. Please contact the office with questions. If you are uncertain whether your child is currently in a remote section, the information below may be helpful.
Finally, an ENORMOUS THANK YOU for your patience and grace during this remote teaching time. It has been a learning experience for all, with some hiccups along the way, but we'll make it. We will persevere and come out stronger than ever. Our theme this year is We Are All in This Together, and and we count YOU as part of the WE. Thank you for being part of the Walsh Family!
Until I see you again...
Stay well and be safe,
Mrs. Martin

Remote Lunch Program
Stay tuned for updated information about lunches...students attending in person will still have the opportunity to order lunches "to go" as they leave the building.
The Wheels on the Bus are Ready to Go Round and Round...
All Walsh students who receive bussing will ride with Walsh students only. Each of our students will have a bus tag, usually pinned on their backpack. There is a 3-check system used when loading students onto the busses. Teachers, paras, and bus drivers make sure all students are on the correct bus before the busses leave the parking lot.
The bus drivers will take their time during the first week or so to match faces with names in order to maintain safety, resulting in a slower ride home. We will have staff members riding the bus to assist the drivers for the first week. Please arrive at the bus stop on time and with your picture ID. The drivers will have a copy of your Transportation Release form and will only dismiss students to people on the list and with proper identification. Bus times usually settle into a normal time by the end of the second week.
During the route development process, the bus company has taken social-distancing and other safety protocols into consideration and will expect all students, staff, and parents to adhere to their rules. Please call the school office or the First Student bus company with any concerns.
Student bus information will be communicated to parents as soon as it is available. There will also be a mass communication broadcast to parents regarding the necessary transportation forms, but if you want to get ahead of the game...they are included here:

Just a reminder to make sure that when your child completes his or her Seesaw work, he/she SUBMITS it; otherwise, we don't know it was completed.
