celebrating 26 years of excellence in catholic education
Theme for the Year: Hope
At St. Joseph Catholic School, each and every day we are training students to be missionary disciples, and learning to recognize God in our lives and in the world around us,
full of HOPE for the future.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a nurturing and prayerful learning environment committed to academic excellence, training missionary disciples to seek virtue, wisdom, and truth, in partnership with a community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
Motto:
Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
From the principal
Thank you for your patience with the newsletter this week. I normally have this out each Thursday evening. We were finalizing the Home and School Association Meeting information for you, so you would have it in this newsletter. Be sure to check out the "Reminders and Upcoming Events" section each week to stay informed. I hope this newsletter helps everyone feel connected to the wonderful things happening at St. Joseph Catholic School.
Our school year is off to a great start!
Thank you, Distance Learning families, for your help working through schedules and Zoom invites. We have never taught like this before, students in the classroom and students from home. We continue to make adjustments as needed to serve all of our families. Thank you, On-Campus Families, for your patience with our new car line dismissal. I believe we are about to launch the PikMyKid App in the next week or so. Be watching for an email with information and training on how this dismissal system works. It will eliminate the need for the constant disruption to the classrooms with the walkie-talkie. You will play a role in the dismissal process by announcing your arrival on the app. More info to come!
Please continue to pray for our school community. Our teachers need your prayers, as does the entire office. Everyone is working in unison to continue the mission of Catholic education at St. Joseph Catholic School. We are so grateful for our families and all you do for us, and for your prayers.
Diane Price, M.Ed.L.
Principal

COVID-19 Daily Home Screening Required for Students
Parents: Please be sure to complete this short screening each morning. If none of these apply to your child, you may come to school. Please contact the school if your child is sick or has been exposed to a positive COVID-19 individual. We will guide you on what next steps to take regarding your return date to campus.
SECTION 1: Symptoms
If your child has any of the following symptoms, that indicates a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others. Please check your child for these symptoms:
1. Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth
2. Sore throat
3. New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
4. Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
5. New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
SECTION 2: Close Contact/Potential Exposure
1. Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19

Daily Mass is open to the public. Attendance limited to first 40 people. Temperatures will be checked at the door. Please maintain social distance from others. Also, the Parish Office now has limited office hours: 8-10 a.m. Monday-Friday. Parishioners may schedule Mass intentions, purchase a candle or refill Holy Water. Most staff will continue to work from home, and are available via direct dial office phone and email 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- The faithful are dispensed from the obligation to attend and to participate in Sunday Mass, but not dispensed from our faith.
- People in attendance at Mass must wear masks or scarfs over their mouths and nose inside the buildings to help prevent the spread of the virus.
- All attending are to practice proper social distancing, wear masks and use hand sanitizer upon entering the church.
- The Bishop asks to be considerate in charity of your neighbor and receive Holy Communion in the hand for the time being.
