Principals Message:
There is always something exciting happening every week in our Eagle nation.
First congratulations to our CHS theater program that did an outstanding job with the CHS fall play, Elephant Man. It was well-performed and the set was outstanding. Thank you, Ms. Cater and everyone for supporting our students and our Performing Arts program.
Thank you to everyone who made the Trades Day Field Trip possible. More than thirty CHS students had a great experience learning careers and trades in the greater Portland area on Tuesday.
Also, thank you to all the students and staff who presented at Wednesday's CHS School Board presentation. Each of our students and you did a great job showing casing some of the outstanding things happening at CHS. Thank you for talking about the Performing Arts, Culinary Arts, Student Store, Career/Trades Academic Intervention/T1, BSU.There was a lot of positive praise for how our students represented themselves and self-advocacy.
Also, a special shout-out to CHS students Marisol Jeronimo Martinez and Kristy Cao who spoke at the Oregon School Board Association Fall Conference on student voice showing representatives all across Oregon what it means to be an Eagle.
Finally, thank you to the new CHS Garden Club for all their work on Saturday reviving and getting our CHS Court Yard gardens ready for the winter.
Make sure to check out Winter Sports Session Begins and Fall Conference updates in the

Assistant Principal Laura Scully's Message:
"To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season..." My dad used to sing along to this 1965 song by the Byrds when I was a young child. It's been playing in my brain, on repeat, as I have prepared to send this message. Like this news, it's a little sad. It's hopeful too. This career of mine has been a source of immense challenge and joy. As is so with all things and seasons, change is inevitable. I have made the decision to retire.
It has been a pleasure serving the Centennial School District over the past 30+ years. I’ve absolutely loved my time working with CSD children, families and staff. I have enjoyed tremendous opportunities for growth during my time here.
I wish the best for Centennial and all who work and learn here. Pending School Board, approval my last official day at Centennial High School will be December 31, 2023. I intend to continue, fully present in my duties, through my last day. I will do everything in my power to ensure a seamless transition.
I still live in the district and have agreed to do some admin subbing as I am able. I may even serve in some other capacity down the road. I am sure you know I will always be cheering for your success with the kids.
Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!
Respectfully,
Laura Scully - Assistant Principal
AP Input Survey Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. We are both excited for Assistant Principal Laura Scully and wish her the best in her retirement but also sad for our Eagle Nation. She has made a positive difference in our student's lives and our CSD community. Assistant Principal Scully is committed to ensuring a smooth transition as we start the process of hiring a new assistant principal. Although we can never replace Ms. Scully we always want the best candidates to support that reflect Eagle Community qualities.
