News and Notes from Clever 6-8 Middle School February 2021

Message From the Principal!

We are off and running well into semester 2! While there have been struggles, I feel confident that we are on a path toward a greater sense of normalcy. I would like to thank our students, parents, and community members for all of their support during these challenging times. As we continue to move forward, we encourage parents to be vigilant in monitoring student grades through Information NOW and Canvas. Let's make sure our students get the second semester off to a great start!

THANK YOU - Mrs. Casey

National School Counseling Week 2021 (Feb. 1–5), sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the essential contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Take a moment to thank your local school counselor. Clever is blessed to have the best!

Morning Drop Off

Just a friendly reminder that school starts at 7:55 . If you arrive in the drop off lane at 7:55 or after you will need to pull around to the MS office, escort your child to the office and check them in on the Ipad. Morning drop off is a steady flow of traffic and we are able to unload students much quicker. Drop off is from 7:30-7:55. Thanks for our cooperation.

Leader In Me - Kindness Matter

Students have the opportunity to earn "Kindness Matters" tickets for being a leader or being kind to others at school. When a student is exhibiting these behaviors, the teacher or other students will fill out the nomination form and students are called to the office weekly to pick up their ticket and award.

Teacher Leader of the Month

SARAH GOLUBSKI - 6TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER

Sarah always has her end goal in mind whether it's personal or professional. She's also a great problem solver, and she is a quick thinker. One of her students stated that Ms. G is always "on task, helpful and never distracted." Sarah also strives to help others achieve their end goal. You can regularly hear her in the hallways, classrooms and office asking if there is anything that she can do to help.

Sarah sets a positive example for her students and peers in all that she does in the classroom, on the court and in her personal life!

MAP Testing Update

We are working on a testing schedule and this information will be sent out in the coming weeks. Tentatively we plan to begin MAP testing at the end of April and will continue on into May.

FBLA March of Dimes

FBLA hosted a March of Dimes fundraiser in January. Students were encouraged to participate in various dress up days and donate extra change. Students at the 6-8 level donated $233.36 towards the cause. Mrs. King's homeroom has the most $$ contributed and earned a popcorn party. Thank you to everyone that contributed.
