Holy Name Highlights
September 1, 2017
Note From The Principal's Desk
Happy Friday!
We have made it to our first long weekend of the year – enjoy a day off on Monday and come back to us rested and ready to learn! It has been a great week as we continue in the flow of the day-to-day learning and growing that we do! We finished up our NWEA assessments today – this will set the stage for our individual growth goals that we will look to meet when the students take the assessment again in December. It is the hard work they put in each day that will help them reach their growth goals. Looking ahead to next week, it is hard to believe that we are already at progress report time. Those will be available on Friday of next week. However, you can always log into Jupiter to check on grades at any time. This is a great opportunity to check on your child’s progress, ask him/her about their grades, and reach out to your teachers if you have any questions.
As we start September, remember that Oktoberfest is at the end of the month. Raffle tickets are still available and extra forms are in the office if you need one. Have a much needed and deserved long weekend! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back in on Tuesday!

Candy Donations
Hello Holy Name Families!
Greetings from the Oktoberfest Kid Zone Committee! We are in the final days of preparing for Oktoberfest 2017, and we need your help! Each year we strive to provide a safe and fun area for kids of all ages to have fun. As you can imagine, this takes a lot of supplies, and A LOT of adult volunteers. There are 2 main ways you can help:
- Donate a bag of candy
PK-K: Tootsie Rolls
1-2: Sweet Tarts
3-5: Dum Dum Suckers
6-8: Jolly Ranchers
2. Sign up for a Kid Zone shift (high school students and adults only, please)
Bags of candy should be sent to the school office by Wednesday, September 27th. If you have any questions or need more information about signing up for a shift, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Thank you all for your help, and we look forward to seeing everyone on September 29th and 30th!

Living Rosary
The Faith Formation and the Oktoberfest Committee would like to invite you to participate in a Living Rosary on Sunday, September 24 at 1 pm in the church.
With the rosary we will be calling upon the intercession of our Blessed Mother for the success of the Oktoberfest. Following the Rosary there will be pre-Oktoberfest fun in the JCPC.
In the Living Rosary each person stands in a chain representing a bead of the Rosary. If you are interested in being a part of the Living Rosary, please call the parish office at 317-784-5454 or email at parishadmin@holyname.cc. All are welcome to attend this beautiful prayer opportunity.
Thanks,
Jennifer Kedra
