- Author Joelle Charbonneau will visit our school on Wednesday, October 2nd to talk about her books (including her new book Verify) and her career. At the end of her appearance, she will sign books for any students who wish to purchase them. This author visit is made possible by Webster Groves’ independent bookstore THE NOVEL NEIGHBOR, and Verify (discounted, no tax) is available for this visit only through them. LINK TO ORDER
- A fun reading challenge for September: take a picture reading somewhere unusual and email to Goosen or Day.
Every year the PTO organizes an evening meal for the faculty and staff during parent-teacher conferences. This year we will be providing a catered dinner, beverages, snacks and desserts for a quick meal on Monday, October 7, 2019. We need your help to make this all possible. We continued Unit Two, Realistic Fiction Narrative, by committing to a story idea and then taking our main character out for a test drive through a scene.
September Reading Goals are due when students walk into class on Tuesday, October 1.

Students spent the week learning how and why we see moon phases from Earth. Ask them to explain (or even demonstrate) this to you!
The assessment for our first four Space Systems Learning Goals will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 1st.
Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
Social Studies finished our class research of the Geography of Ancient Civilizations. We took our formative assessment that covered our basic Geographic terms.
At the end of the week, we started our Civilization Project. For the Geography portion, we began creating various maps of our fictitious civilization.
