Board Appoints Three New Members to the Long Range Planning Committee

The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board appointed three new members to the Long Range Planning Committee from a group of 23 outstanding candidates.

Mary Pettenger was appointed to Position No. 1, Parasa Chanramy was appointed to Position No. 7, and Julie Stone Evans was appointed to Position No. 4.

As Policy Director of Stand for Children, Parasa Chanramy brings eight years of education policy experience and four years of school district capital bond and levy planning experience to the Long Range Planning Committee. Julie Stone Evans brings a background in policy research as well as experience as a former elementary school board member. Mary Pettenger brings an educational background as a university professor as well as years of volunteering in West Linn-Wilsonville schools.

"My guess is this is the most candidates our school district has ever had for the Long Range Planning Committee," said Board Chair Regan Molatore. "This is an incredible pool of applicants. We are so lucky to have a community with such knowledge and expertise and such willingness to give back to our students and our schools. Thank to our community and to all of these amazing applicants."

The Long Range Planning Committee is a seven member citizen committee responsible for guiding the development of the Long Range Plan, that provides a rational framework for evaluating and addressing future school facility needs as the West Linn and Wilsonville areas grow. Board Reviews Operational Blueprint for Reentry Sections 0-3

The Board reviewed sections 0-3 of the district's Operational Blueprint for Reentry. While the district does not currently meet the state's health metrics for reopening to in-person learning, the completed blueprint will allow for schools to transition to hybrid learning when it is safe to do so.

Operational Blueprints for Reentry will now be submitted to the Clackamas County Health Department for approval and will be posted to the District Website once approved.
