Cumberland Valley High School’s Patriots Club will host its annual Veterans Appreciation Ceremony at 6 p.m. on November 9, 2022, in the Performing Arts Center at CV High School. A complimentary reception honoring our military veterans and active duty service men and women will be held in the CVHS cafeteria immediately following the program.

This student-led, community-supported event will honor local veterans and active-duty military and will feature music and chorale performances, and remarks from special guests. Veterans and all active-duty military are encouraged to come in uniform.

The Eagle Foundation is hosting its 22nd annual Touch of the Valley event in November – this year in the format of an online auction. There will be an expected 100+ auction items including two orthodontic packages. Penn State tickets, a Hershey Bears game suite, a one-hour helicopter ride, golf bags, private pottery throwing classes instructed by CV students, reserved high school student parking spaces, personal fly fishing lessons by a CV VIP, lots of gift cards, and more!

The event will be six days of online bidding fun. Registration is free and you will be notified if you are outbid on auction items. Proceeds support student resources including summer reading sessions, a mentoring program, classroom learning grants, resources for students-in-need, scholarships, and more.

This week is Fire Prevention Week. In many cases, fire apparatus, ambulances, and first responders will be visiting our elementary schools to provide programming for our students. We share this simply to make you aware should you be near a school and see apparatus in the area of the building.

Thank you to our local first responders for taking time to host programs for our students and for their service to our community.

As shared previously, Cumberland Valley School District's Board of School Directors will host a Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022. The Town Hall will take place in the CV9 auditorium (451 Skyport Road, Mechanicsburg) and will provide an opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions regarding school board and/or district operations.

As a reminder, the deadline to enroll in our voluntary 1:1 device insurance program is November 4, 2022. Cost is $25 per student per year, with waivers in place for families facing economic hardship and families with four or more students. While not required, we strongly encourage parents/guardians to take advantage of this program as this optional insurance will help to decrease the out-of-pocket expenses families may have related to device damage.
