ACTIVITIES DEPARTMENT

**Prior to "registration", all athletes MUST have a current sports physical entered into the system by Cindy McCallum. Typically, all 9th graders, and seniors need to have a physical as they expire after 3 years.**

The registration portal opens Monday (7/25) for the following sports:

  • Cross Country (boys and girls)
  • Fall Performance Team
  • Football
  • Soccer (boys and girls)
  • Swim & Dive (girls)
  • Tennis (girls)
  • Volleyball (girls)

FIRST DAY OF TRYOUTS / PRACTICE: Monday (8/15)

SPORTS PHYSICALS: To register, the student/athlete MUST have a valid sports physical on file. To check the date, log in to your ParentVUE account. Click on the Student Information tab and scroll to the bottom. Physicals are good for three (3) years and must be valid during the entire season of the sport. The system will not let you register, if the physical expires during the season. Updated physicals can be faxed (651-621-7105), dropped off or emailed to cindy.mccallum@moundsviewschools.org.

IMPORTANT: The number of student parking permits will be more limited than usual in the Fall of 2022-2023 due to construction in the north parking lot. Construction is scheduled to be completed by November, and more student permits will be issued when the additional spaces are available.

SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST & CALCULATOR INFORMATION

School Supplies: Teachers will provide a list of materials needed for their specific classes on the first day of school. We suggest bringing something to write with and write on.

Intermediate Algebra and Geometry: Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView Scientific Calculator (approximately $15). You may opt to not purchase this calculator and instead purchase the calculator your student will need for Advanced Algebra and beyond.

Advanced Algebra and beyond: Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, or TI-84 Plus CE. Do not purchase TI-89, TI-92, or TI-Nspire CAS--they are NOT permitted for use on the ACT exam. Prices vary ($90-$150) depending on the model. These models frequently go on sale.

Big picture

SHORTER EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR STAFF

There is now a shorter email option to reach our employees. You can send email messages to our staff members by using the new alias firstname.lastname@MVPschools.org. Students can also be reached using the @MVPschools.org alias. This change accompanies the shorter URL option of MVPschools.org to access the District website.

If you forget to use the shorter alias, that’s okay. Messages sent to the @moundviewschools.org address will still be delivered, and outgoing emails from staff will still carry the longer address. Both addresses will work successfully.
