From the Desks of Mr. Frazier & Mrs. Reddell

November is here, and along with it came the end of daylight savings. Boo! Though we miss the extra daylight in the afternoon, the cooler weather and colors of fall make it much more pleasant when outside!

With the shift in time, I thought this would be a good opportunity to revisit our tardy and attendance policy and share some reminders:

  • Written notes from parents must be received within 5 days of the student’s return to school
  • Tardies can only be excused with a doctor’s note
  • Undocumented/Unexcused Early Sign-Outs are counted as 'Tardy' on the student's attendance records for documentation purposes. Unexcused/Unexplained early dismissals can only be excused with a doctor’s note.

* For more detailed information please refer to the Anna ISD Student Handbook on our website.

The best opportunity for our students to learn is the time they spend in the classroom with their teachers, and any missed time is a missed learning opportunity. We certainly understand that life happens, and that certain situations cannot be avoided; however, we also want to stress the importance of being in class and being on time, and how that contributes the most to student success.

Thank you, parents, for your continued partnership in helping our students grow and achieve!
