- Father's name is Berndt Danielson and was a ship's captain
- Mother's name is Coltilde.
- Her mother had 4 kids until the father left and remarried a women named Sonni.
- In 1906, she entered medicine school against her parents wishes.
- She met a guy named Oscar Horney and they married in 1909 and she gave birth to her one out of three daughters in 1910.
- In 1911, she started to explore psychoanalysis.
- She started to follow Freudian analysis with Karl Abraham in 1915.
- In 1919, she began taking patients for analysis and worked at the Berlin Psychoanalytic Clinic and Institute until 1932.
- In 1920, she published papers which described the topic of orthodox Freudian's, especially with psychosexuality.
- She got depressed when her brother died and she had thoughts of committing suicide.
- She wrote Neurotic Personality or Our Lives in 1937, Self-Analysis in 1942, Our inner conflicts in 1945, and Neurosis and Human Growth in 1950.
Contribution to Psychology
She founded the association's American Journal of Psychoanalysis.
She served as the editor until she died.
